On Fran Bow side you can not use any of the current registered names, places and objects from Alice's games. Now these been free there is no copyright violation. What I am trying to say here is that you can make a fan made game of anything you want just as people make fan made games from FNAF free. This has nothing to do with copyrights because they never mention it on the game of Fran Bow but it is canon on the perspective of Fran Bow game. That's a property owned by American McGee and produced by EA this is a completely different company, so even if some moments are a nod to or shoutout to the game, it COULDN'T be canon to it or try to be part of it-that'd be a copyright violation! Alice in Wonderland is in public domain, so they can try to reference Fran and the Queen of Hearts in regards to the original book, but Alice:Madness Returns is copyrighted so they couldn't.
